To our valued customers,
BR International previously notified our clients of the new packing declaration formats which were implemented on June 16, 2017. The majority of our Annual Packing Declarations ( APD ) have been approved and are therefore valid for twelve months from the date of issue. BR International have now received advice from the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources ( DAWR ) that there is a slight error in the cleanliness statement on the APD template previously issued. Incorrect wording was used in the statement which does not comply with DAWR’s own policy manuals. In light of this error an updated APD template has been issued and accompanies this bulletin. All future APD’s must be in this format in order to be approved.
There is no need to update previously approved APD’s. The DAWR have confirmed that they will accept both versions of the cleanliness declaration on APD’s as the intent of the statements is the same. The department has not set a date after which the grammatically incorrect declaration will be considered unacceptable. It is expected that the incorrect declarations will naturally phase out due to the one year validity period.
Please feel free to contact your BRi customer service or customs representative should you have further queries relating to this matter.
Keeping you updated,
BRi Customs Department
