To our Valued Customers,
Due to recent unexpected and very significant increases in key factors impacting shipping operational costs, Maersk Line is implementing an emergency charge globally.
For exports from China1, we will introduce an emergency Peak Season Surcharge (PSS). The surcharge will apply to all export shipments on all trades from China, and it will be effective 1 June 2018 and until further notice. For export shipments to the US and Puerto Rico, the emergency PSS will be effective 1 July 2018 and until further notice. The emergency PSS will also apply to trades that already have a PSS.
This is a necessary action to ensure a continued sustainable service to our customers. The emergency charge level will be reviewed as and when significant increase or reduction of key shipping cost elements occurs. We kindly ask for your understanding and support.
The emergency PSS tariff levels for exports from China are as follows:
Currency DRY + Special Equipment REEF
20' 40' 45' 20' 40' 45'
USD 60 120 120 90 180 180
The above rates are also subject to other applicable surcharges, including local charges and contingency charges.
Feel free to contact your BRi representative should you have any further queries or concerns in relation to this matter.
Keeping you updated,
