BR International wishes to inform all import clients of an impending adjustment to the Biosecurity ( DAFF/Quarantine) component of the entry processing fee which is imposed on all Import Declarations where the consignment value is greater than $1,000 AUD.
The Biosecurity Cost Recovery Implementation Statement ( CRIS ) 2015-16 was released this week and outlines the redesigned Biosecurity fees which will come into effect as of December 1st, 2015.
The relative adjustments are outlined below :-
Service |
Old Fee |
New Fee |
Import Declaration - Air, Customs value under $10,000 |
$56.20 |
$73.20 |
Import Declaration - Air, Customs value over $10,000 |
$138.10 |
$155.10 |
Import Declaration - Sea, LCL, Customs value under $10,000 |
$73.00 |
$92.00 |
Import Declaration - Sea, LCL, Customs value over $ 10,000 |
$175.60 |
$194.60 |
Import Declaration - Sea, FCL, Customs value under $10,000 |
$95.00 + $ 30 per additional container |
$92.00 |
Import Declaration - Sea, FCL, Customs value over $10,000 |
$197.60 + $ 30 per additional container |
$194.60 |
Whilst the fee for some modes of transport have risen, it is important to note that the previous “per container” charge for FCL consignments will be replaced by a flat fee which will certainly provide significant savings where consignments include multiple containers.
BR International understands the Department of Immigration and Border Protection ( Customs ) component of the entry processing fee is also being reviewed with a targeted commencement date of 1 January, 2016. We will monitor this situation and provide updates when they develop.
Keeping you updated,
Customs Department
