To our valued clients
International shipping continues to feel the effects of the “post covid rebound” of 2020, with worldwide trade experiencing sustained growth which is being compounded by supply chain upheaval & no immediate relief in sight.
Every global trade lane is experiencing extreme levels of port congestion.
This is being further exacerbated by shipping lines restricting vessel availability and a severe lack of equipment (i.e. empty containers)
The Shipping lines as a whole appear completely at best unable (or at worst disinterested) to address these issues and are continually forcing the price to ever increasing record levels.
Even now in August, space is at a premium. There is no relief in sight and the are some very concerning signs for what lays ahead in the traditional pre-Christmas peak season.
At BR International we have added further resources to our shipping line procurement focus with a clear direction to securing more space where ever possible.
Our teams at origin & locally continue to work tirelessly to achieve the best outcome for every single order/shipment.
Our current & standing advice for all our clients is structured around three key components
The earlier and more accurate the better
2. Supplier Compliance – handovers must be on time
If suppliers miss a booking it could see a delay of several weeks (not the usual one-week delay)
3. IF IT’S READY - SHIP IT STRAIGHT AWAY
Don’t delay. We do not see an improvement in current conditions this side of Christmas
Feel free to reach out to us at any time to discuss your individual requirements.
We are here to assist & will continue to work tirelessly for the best outcomes in these difficult times.
Keeping you updated
