Dear valued Customer,
Further to below broadcast sent on the 7th of March , advice has just been received from DP World that the new infrastructure surcharge for Sydney and Melbourne has now been delayed until 17 April 2017.
7th of March 2017 - SYDNEY & MELBOURNE - Infrastructure Fee imposed by DP World
We have received notification of an additional port fee ‘Infrastructure Surcharge’ being introduced by DP World.
This will come into effect from 3rd April 2017 and will apply to all Import and Export containers being collected or delivered into Sydney & Melbourne terminals.
The fee will be levied to Transport Operators and be charged through the ‘Vehicle Booking System’.
We understand this will have a significant impact on customers as transport providers are left with no option than to pass on these additional costs, along with a small administration fee.
The fee will be displayed separately as an additional line item on your invoice.
The Infrastructure Surcharge has been levied in Brisbane port for some time now by all terminals (DP World, Patrick Stevedores & Hutchison). Although no announcement has been made as yet by Patrick’s or Hutchison’s, we expect that they will follow with a similar charge in the near future.
Note attached media releases by DP World.
Please contact your BRi customer service representative if you have any further questions.
Keeping you updated,
BRi Management
