NEWS FLASH – POSITIVE COVID CASE IN NINGBO – PORT CLOSED – VESSELS DIVERTING

News continues to come in about a positive Covid case in the port of Ningbo area.

 

Latest information is that several shipping lines have cancelled scheduled calls at Ningbo, with others reviewing schedules & looking at diversion options.

 

The port warehouse precinct has also been effected with operations halted & considerably restricted.

 

Our Customer Solutions teams will continue to monitor & manage the situation on a case by case basis.

  

DCN reports this morning - via “Splash 247”

 

“Ningbo-Zhoushan port has started to turn ships away this morning in the wake of the positive nucleic test. The worker resides in a dormitory and tested negative on the 8th, before being retested on the 10th.

 

Initially, the ports authority claimed that its operating system was down early this morning before the Ningbo Municipal Health Commission came clean with the news. The infected worker was part of the workforce at Ningbo Meidong Container Terminal.”
