Dear Valued Client
Further to our news bulletin http://www.brint.com.au/news/packing-declaration-format-changes-2 , published on October 31st, BR International would like to remind our customers of a decision made by the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources ( DAWR ) to again change the format of packing declarations.
The DAWR have stated that bamboo packaging will no longer be regarded as an unacceptable form of packing ( provided it has been adequately treated ) and therefore not required to be declared this way. This means that revised consignment specific and annual packing declarations have now been implemented, as of November 20th, 2017.
The DAWR will continue to accept packing declarations that are in the current format for consignments shipped on or before 30 June 2018. This will provide ample opportunity to update any annual packing declarations to the new format. All consignments shipped on or after 1 July 2018, must be accompanied by a packaging declaration that meets the revised requirements.
The new packing declaration formats ( consignment specific and annual ) have now been released by the DAWR and are attached for your perusal. Please ensure your suppliers are aware of these new formats to enable a smooth transition well in advance of the July 1, 2018 cutover date.
Feel free to contact your BR International Customs department should you have any further queries in relation to this matter.
Keeping you updated, BRi Customs Team
